Leave Michael Vick Alone
61
You know I've heard a lot of people on the raido and online just ripping into Michael Vick like he was the second coming of Adolf Hitler, yes most of it he deserves but not all of it. I've heard people talking about just craiziness, things like he shouldn't be allowed to ever play football again and that the NFL should make an example out of him. How about not?
I understand what Vick did, I'm not even a huge dog lover but I've seen some of the pics of the Michael Vick dogs and they are sick. I'm not trying to say that what Michael Vick did wasn't horrible but there are guys in the NFL who's actions have resulted in the loss of human life. If the NFL was going to make an example of someone why would they single out Vick when there are people still playing in the league who didn't really pay for their crimes even though their crimes were far worse?
Following a Super Bowl party on January 31, 2000a fight broke out between Lewis' and rapper Chino Nino's entourage and resulted in Jacinth Baker and Richard Lollar dying from stab wounds. During the trial, several witnesses whose testimony would supposedly prove Lewis’ guilt had altered their stories initially given to investigators. In 2004 Lewis reached a settlement with four-year-old India Lollar, born months after the death of her father Richard, Lewis also reached an undisclosed settlement with Baker's family.
After leaving a birthday party drunk in 1998, Leonard Little crashed into and killed Susan Gutweiler in St. Louis, MO. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.19 percent. All he got was 90 days in jail, four years probation and 1000 hours of community service. Oh and he walked on another DUI charge 4 years later.
On March 14, 2009 in Miami Donte Stallworth who had a blood alcohol level of 0.12 percent and drugs in his system was driving when he struck and killed Mario Reyes. He pleaded guilty and received a sentence of 30 days in jail, 1,000 hours of community service, 2 years house arrest, 8 years probation, and a lifetime suspension of his drivers license.
Pacman Jones, enough said.
PETA can do what they will and protest Vick's game but it shouldn't even make a difference, if he can still play Vick is going to be in the NFL and he deserves a second chance. Vick has served his time unlike some current players in the NFL so leave the man alone and let him see what he can do with his second chance.

sibaja_software the player you are referring to is Rae Carruth.
BSLIONS I agree Vick should be able to play football again. He told the media he is already near a deal.
They should be banned from the sport as well, the commissioner has given limited consent to his return so there is no double standard as you try to imply. The problem is with people who don't want him to return not the NFL. Aside from the murderer lewis the others didn't set out to kill anyone, it wasn't planned they were accidents, Vick intended to kill those dogs and did so happily! So he should be beaten in just the same way!
What M. Vick did was despicable, but he did his time. He paid for his offense, so let him start over - He's a football player that's his profession. If he was a car mechanic, no one would deny him the chance to start over.
Good stuff BS Lions i agree completely. Let Mike Vick play the game needs him.
No way, Vick is a horrible horrible person who should suffer forever for his horrible crimes. On the other hand, Ted Kennedy and Roman Polanski are heroes.
Great hub man. I just wrote one too on Michael Vick as I'm a big Eagles fan and I believe that he deserved a chance to start over and he's definitely made the most of that.

What about the player from the panthers, did'nt murder his girlfriend?
It's terrible what Michael Vick did to those dogs, but he also was running a gambling operation too.
Interesting hub you bring up some good points
